It’s comfort food with integrity—crafted to be wholesome, satisfying, and deeply nourishing, during the months when our bodies need it most.
Low-Waste by Design: Glass Jar Program
Soup Shares are packaged in reusable glass quart jars as part of our commitment to reducing waste and building a more sustainable local food system.
How it works:
A refundable jar deposit is required at sign-up
Jars are returned weekly (or as arranged) and professionally cleaned
Subscribers agree to return jars regularly so we can keep the program running smoothly
This system dramatically reduces single-use packaging and keeps Soup Share aligned with your environmental values.
Pay It Forward Soup Share
Soup has always been about care, connection, and community.
Through our Pay It Forward Soup Share, subscribers can help extend the reach of Mountain Roots Soup Share to neighbors facing food insecurity. By adding a weekly contribution or sponsoring a full Soup Share, you help ensure that nourishing, chef-crafted soups are available to community members who might not otherwise be able to afford them.
Pay It Forward contributions are pooled and used where the need is greatest, in coordination with Mountain Roots’ food access programs and community partners. This approach allows us to respond flexibly and thoughtfully—while preserving dignity and respect for everyone involved.
Whether you’re adding a few dollars a week or sponsoring a full share, your generosity helps turn one meal into many.

Organic, Seasonal, Local-First (Even in Winter)
Mountain Roots is committed to using locally and regionally sourced ingredients whenever possible, prioritizing Colorado producers and responsibly sourced, organic staples. During the winter months, fresh local produce is limited, so our approach balances:
Local and regional foods when available
Stored, preserved, or frozen ingredients from earlier harvests
High-quality, organic, responsibly sourced pantry staples
Our focus is always on good food, made honestly, with transparency and integrity at the center.
Soup Share isn’t just about dinner—it’s about community.
Your subscription helps:
Support local food systems and regional producers
Create dignified, affordable access to nourishing food
Sustain Mountain Roots’ community kitchen and culinary education programs
Reduce waste through reusable packaging
It’s healthy from-scratch comfort food with a purpose.
