Regional Food Hub Work

In spring of 2022, Mountain Roots wrapped up a large-scale regional food system planning project. The Southwest Colorado Local Food Hub-to-Node Connectivity Project engaged agricultural producers and consumers throughout our region in roundtable conversations, surveys, and a growing season pilot program to better understand the current strengths and challenges among our local and regional food systems, and identify strategies to strengthen connections between our regional foodsheds, increase opportunities for growers and improve accessibility for consumers. The project was collaboratively conducted by six like-missioned local food organizations in Southwest Colorado.

The results of the planning initiative are now available in Roadmap to Regional Connectivity. We invite you to read all about it!

Funding for this project was made possible by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service through grant [AM22LFPPCO1178-00]. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the USDA.
